Technical Information

Subaru Impreza WRX RA Turbo, permanent 4WD turbocharged 2.0 litre engine with 280 Bhp. Running under Group A with a 34mm restrictor (as per FIA regulations) the Impreza accelerates 0 - 100 Kph in around 5.2 seconds and attains a top speed of 185 Kph.

Although the top speed is not high, the close ratio gearbox allows for very quick acceleration, which is more useful in special stage rallying. The body has been fully reinforced to Safari spec by seamwelding and plating. The car is fitted with a full weld in roll cage.

The underside is protected by STi Dural sumpguard and differential guard. Full plumbed in fire extinguishers are fitted for cockpit and engine bay protection.

Suspension for the 2001 season is provided by Proflex in the form of Acropolis spec remote reservoir dampers and Safari spec springs. The car has been fitted with steel drop straps on the suspension.

Tyres are 205 x 65 x 15 Pirelli ASG K20.

Fuel is 100LL Avgas by Caltex, and Lubricants used are Caltex Havoline. We have now upgraded to a more powerful Group A engine and "dog" straight cut competition gearbox.
